How to Order



Returns & Refunds


All items for sale unless otherwise noted, are made to order. You tell me what you want it to look like, you place the order for the item, I make your item, then I send it off to you. Happy Days! In a society fuelled by instant gratification, no doubt this process will be a test of patience for a few.

These are not your run-of-the-mill, cheap sweatshop items churned out by abused foreigners that you see in every store and website. Things I make are 100% Aussie hand made items, so allow plenty of time for the crafting of your piece. I'll advise you of the approximate time I think it'll take to make your item when you place the order, or you're welcome to ask before you order, just in case I'm busy and you're late for a birthday gift. The time it takes will depend on how many orders I have at once, and how complicated the piece is that you want.

The items pictured on this site are examples only, and not for sale. If you require a size other than what the examples show, the item price will be adjusted accordingly.

Items purchased from Southern Star Woodworks should be kept away from children and pets.

Take care not to leave candles or incense burning unattended.

From time to time, I'll put up an item that is a one of a kind, never to be repeated piece. That item will be all put together and ready to ship at the time of your order.

All items will be stamped with the SSW makers mark in an inconspicuous place.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how, when and why I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through or its related sites and services, and also the website.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

Information I collect -

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example or a scan of your Church of Satan card for the members discount), if you contact me directly.

Why I need your information and how I use it -

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support; when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information sharing and disclosure -

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use. Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

Data retention -

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of personal information outside the EU -

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. I will never sell or list your personal information for sale.

Your rights -

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below. Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request. Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons. Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

Misc -

All items sent to customers will be sent in Australia Post boxes, or plain postal boxes with a very basic description of the contents. This is to ensure that no link between the customer and any religion or philosophy can be made by anyone viewing the package that your item is in. The 'from' section will be filled in with my name.

Images of and information from CoS Membership cards used for the members discount is not stored or shown to anyone else, and are deleted upon verification.

Southern Star Woodworks may link to other websites through this website or social media sites, please note that Southern Star Woodworks has no control over the content, user agreements or privacy policies of those websites.

How to Order

Take note of whether orders are currently open or closed. If orders are currently closed and you make a purchase, I will refund your money and request that you please wait until orders open again. If you like, I will send you an email as soon as orders open again. This is simply to make everything run smoothly, and so I don't get overloaded with a whole bunch of orders which will result in long wait times.

When you've found an item you want, take a look at the customise page. It contains examples of stains, finishes, felt lining and decorative edging. When you know what you want your item to look like, you can make your selection on that item's page. With the colour selection, simply type the colours you want into the appropriate sections.

If you have any requests or special instructions, you'll be able to include those as a 'note to seller' when you check out. Or you can send me a DM or email, if you like.

When I receive your order, I'll get back to you via email with the approximate time I think it'll take to make your order. Please be aware that it's an estimate, and that life can sometimes get in the way of the best of intentions.

For custom items, I'll make a final check with you to make sure you're happy with your item before it ships.


You may organise a payment plan with me, your item will be shipped upon receiving the final payment.
If you would like to pay an item off, please contact me so I can send you an invoice via PayPal.

I accept Paypal, direct bank deposits, Western Union transfers and if you're willing to wait for your mailed money order or cheque to arrive and clear, I'll accept those too.

I don't charge GST on any of my items.


International customers are responsible for any duty taxes, fees or custom charges if applicable.

I ship my orders as soon as they're ready to go and I ship worldwide from the Sunshine Coast, QLD using Australia Post. All international orders are sent via airmail.

All items are sent with tracking at no extra cost to you. Your tracking number will be emailed to you when your item is sent.

The weight limit for international shipping from Australia Post is 20 kilograms. If your item weighs 20kgs or over, like in the case of large altar furniture items, I can organise alternative shipping quotes for you from a courier or freight service.

PLEASE NOTE - If you're ordering from outside Australia, check your local customs and border protection information concerning wooden items before ordering from my shop, just to be sure.

The wood used in my items has been properly kiln dried, processed and finished. It's free of bark, insects and dirt. I've not had any trouble with international shipping or customs issues so far. Southern Star Woodworks can not be held responsible if your item is confiscated by customs for any reason.

- Shipping within Australia normally takes 5-7 business days to arrive.
- Shipping to the rest of the world usually takes about 2-4 weeks to arrive.

With international express shipping, I can get an item to the US in around 4-6 days. Within Australia, it's usually 1-2 days.

Please note that customs agencies and holiday periods may delay the arrival of your item.

Returns & Refunds

If you are unhappy with your order for any reason please get back to me within 5 days of receiving your package and I'll do my best to resolve the problem quickly.

If you organise with me to return an item for a refund, the refund shall be given immediately after I receive the item back in the same condition as it was sent.

An exception to this, is if the item was absolutely mangled by the post handlers on its way to you. If you receive a broken item, you can either get a full refund or I'll make you another one at no additional cost to you, after I recieve photographs of the damaged item, and I am satisfied that it was damaged on it's way to you. I always pack my items up securely, so getting damaged items shouldn't happen in the first place. I am not legally obligated to refund/send another item if your parcel is deemed lost after it is shipped, so do not try to take advantage of my goodwill.

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact me ASAP for a full refund of purchase and shipping price.


What types of wood do you work with?

- I use a fair bit of Tasmanian Oak, and Radiata Pine, though I also use Western Red Cedar and Red ironbark. I'm always on the hunt for different timbers as they all have their uses and properties. I'm getting more into milling my own timber from logs as well.

Tasmanian Oak is Australian hardwood timber that comes from 3 similiar trees from the Eucalyptus genus. It's sometimes called Victorian Ash. It's wonderful to use, it takes stains well and is quite a hard and dense wood.

Pine is easy to work with, and has really nice natural patterns through the wood, which show through staining.

Western Red Cedar is great to carve and stains nicely. Smells nice when cut too!

Ironbark is a great looking wood that's very durable.

Will you make me an item that isn't Satanic in nature? How about Pagan/Wiccan things?

- Yes, absolutlely! I'm happy to make anyone anything, really. Well, within the confines of my skills and tool collection.

Do you have permission to use the Church of Satan's copyrighted Sigil of Baphomet symbol?

- Yes, I do. A percentage of money from every item with the Sigil of Baphomet goes to the Church of Satan. Magister Les Hernandez gave me permission to make and sell items with his Bloodfire Baphomet, with a portion of the profits also going back to the CoS.

What about things that have nothing to do with religion, like LGBTQI pride merch?

- Sure! I know how hard it can be to find certain things, like trans* pride items. I'll gladly make you wooden pride doodads.

Will you make me an item with my personal symbol on it?

- Sure, you'll need to email me with a good scan/picture of the symbol, and depending on the shape, size and complexity, I'll do my best to make you the item that you want with your personal symbol on it. Afterwards, your personal symbol will never be used on anyone elses item, and of course you still retain all rights associated with the symbol that you have created.

If you have an attractive symbol that you've created, you're welcome to contact me regarding licensing and selling items with your symbol on it. I'm open to fair agreements.

Why is the shipping on this item so costly?

- I dispatch my items through Australia post, so cost is determined by the weight of the item. I don't make a profit from shipping costs. It's literally so the item can get sent to you. The larger the item, the higher the shipping cost is.

Can you hurry it up with my item?

- Shhhh. Again, making these items takes time. The cutting, shaping and sanding takes time. The stains and recoats take time to dry, the finishes take about 8-12 hours to dry for each coat, and the items get several coats of polyurethane. We both need to be patient, because the more I try to rush an item, the more likely it is that a mistake could be made. Then I need to spend time fixing that mistake. I hope that each of my customers will appreciate the time it takes to do quality work.

Can I negotiate a price with you?

- Hell no. Shipping and item prices are non-negotiable, so don't ask. As far as listed items go, they'll be priced when I put them up on the site. They're made to order, so you don't even have to ask me to hold an item for you to save up the coin for it. With individual custom works, where I make something for you that's not listed, I'll calculate the price and let you know how much your item will cost.

Do you accept trades?

- Maybe, it depends. If you're a creative and talented person, and you have quality products that you make yourself, show me your stuff and perhaps we can make a deal. I collect foreign currency as another hobby, if you can send me coins and notes of your country that I don't already have, I'll give you a nice discount on your order. The discount will ALSO cover the cost of postage and tracking for the currency you send me, so you'll need to give me the cost of postage. It really pays to read through FAQs, doesn't it?

Is there a discount for Church of Satan members?

- Yes, there is a 10% discount on your order. This includes shipping + your item(s). To reap the benefits of your CoS membership, simply email or FB message me a scan or photo of your card.

Is there anything that you refuse to make?

- I won't make anything with symbols that have a copyright on them, or replicas of other people's work. I don't do wood burning, you can check out The Burning Witch on Etsy (By Priestess Hydra M. Star) for all of your pyrography needs.

Is this your job? Are you a professional woodsmith?

- Nope. I'm not a professional woodworker, this is simply what I like to do as a hobby, it makes me happy. I've learnt as I go AND I still have all my fingers!
